They did the Iron Maiden Tour, so I think so.

I'm sure I read he'd joined them as Marketing Director.

I thought they were just a leasing company now?

They have 5x 737s and 4x 757s, customers being bmi, Iceland Express, Tonlésap Airlines and Trawel Fly. Any problems with them or like Easyjet have they gone to Airbus so maybe they have no more customers to lease the Boeings?

They did quite a bit of military charter stuff too.

Time for another invasion, preferably further away.

It's been on the cards for a while now . . . . . . I don't think it's a huge surprise to those involved. . . (I think Bruce Dickinson has another job aside from his 'day job).

What a shame.

They did a lot of work for other Airlines that they themselves couldn't make money on. Sure their wage bills were less but when you are basically a charter airline but aren't in with the huge holiday companies, you're pretty exposed these days.

As said, it's not a huge surprise. Mario Fulgoni legged it a couple of months ago and they lost a couple decent contracts.

We (bmi) dumped them 4 months ago mainly down to their reliability.

A real shame to see them go though, I have a feeling that this winter might be a bit of a bloodbath when it comes to airlines failing. We're about to get bought out by IAG and there are a couplle of other airlines looking decidedly dodgy, not in terms of complete failure, but major cuts are a possibility.

Good time for me to be thinking about leaving the day job and moving across to the airlines then?! Doh.
That said, lots of the 'major' airlines do seem to be recruiting. Perhaps just a bit of 'Darwinism' in the airline industry-I hope.
A good mate flies for bmibaby, he is fairly worried at the moment.......

Airlines around the globe are expanding, but in the UK the industry is pretty stagnant at the moment. Off the top of my head I can only really think that Jet2 are actively recruiting here.

I've lost count in the number of mates who've naffed off to Emirates in the last few months though.

I used to deal with Sterling before they went pop. They used one of Astreaus' 737s for a while. The crew were great, and very flexible to help us. Last I saw of heard of them they were buzzing around Iceland.

Bruce Dickinson has a 757 driving liscence IIRC, hope he can get a go every now and again with someone else, I only ever hear good things about him.

Shame... Flew on that very plane last year when it was leased to EJ... First time I've been on a 75 for a good 15 years - made a nice surprise when it I saw it at the gate!
