Where can I get a Rollbar for my V8S
Discussion
Hi.
A Rollbar....since long time on my Wishlist for my V8S. But where can I get one.
I am from Austria - so I have a little Problem.
The Cage-Manufacturers in my neighbourhood "Austria/Germany/Swiss" can not deliver one for a TVR.
OK they can build one special for my car - but it's very expensive.
Does anyone in UK have ready-made Rollbars or eventually Rollcages?
On pictures I saw many S-Series with Rollbars.
And how would the Rollbar be fitted?
Bolted like here?

Maybe you know one who can deliver a bolted Version, which is suitable to a TVR V8S.
Thanks
Alex

I got my rollbar from Tower View Race Services. You have to cut a couple of holes in the rear parcel shelf but otherwise it's a bolt-on job. I'm sure he will deliver overseas, mine was well wrapped up for shipping, but I've no idea if it would work out economically. Worth a chat with them. I have Dave's number on my other phone so can't give it to you but he should be goggleable.
Tower View closed a few years ago, but I'm sure you can contact Dave via Steve Heath.

They have bolt in rear cages for GBP 275.- + vat, included all brackets, bolts etc.
That is an awful lot less than I was quoted a couple of years ago, and then they wouldn't sell direct, had to go through Tower View, who wanted even more of my hard earnt pennies ! Shall follow this with interest

So will I. I originally called Rollcentre earlier this year but was referred to Towerview ( well Dave's mobile anyway ) as they had the 'rights' to the S rollbar design.Shall follow this with interest

Nice blue by the way
Thanks.About the material - Rollcentre tell me it is all made out of 38mm CDS.
By the way....you mean the price is too high?
It is less than I would have to pay for a special designed cage from a manufacturer in my neighbourhood.
Because they haven't ready-made sketches and measurements.

Do they do them in stainless??????????????
I suppose you can get anything in any material if you're willing to pay, but surely that is completely the wrong material for the job?

That price you were quoted is very good. I was quoted double for a single hoop with 2 rear supports and a diagonal from a local engineering co.It is less than I would have to pay for a special designed cage from a manufacturer in my neighbourhood.

One thing I would suggest is that if you're tall you may find that a rollbar is too close to your head for comfort. I spent a while mocking one up and couldn't get it high enough and far enough from my head for comfort. The only solution I could see was to fit GRP bucket seats very low down but in the end I purchased a different car.
