Thought this might be of interest to PHers. Print out the coupon and get your cheap car wash at participating BP stations.

MODS: I'm not connected with this offer at all - just passing it on to fellow PHers.

Appreciate the motive behind the post, but there are not many fans of that kind of petrol station car wash here!

Car wash's are evil, stay well away!

But this voucher does allow you to get a jet wash for 50p (avoid the brush of death though)

So its not all bad.

Could be handy for blasting off my enduro bike so thanks for the HU, had a look.

Nearest participating dealer, Newport Wales - I'm in SW Cornwall.

I'm aware that many won't put their P&J through a car wash, but I guess many will have

a) something not worth 'detailing'
b) a daily driver
c) a partner's car which may not deserve lavish attention

If it's of no interest, then no harm done! smile

Can use the pressure washer thing IIRC, so would do for a spray off.

Although I'd imagine most here just have their butler clean the car?

Cheers for that, will do for jet-washing the van.

It says 1 per wash, but could I go get it washed, then go and jet wash it in a 2nd transaction?

Either way will do for the car!

Confused.. what does this buy you on the jet wash? 50p worth of time? You'll be lucky to get the spray lance out of the holder before it starts beeping.

edit: Never mind, it's participating BP locations only. Seems the classier BP places have "Bronze", "Silver" and "Gold" jet wash programmes. Mine just has a £1 top up thing frown

I'll stick to doing the wash and wax by hand, it's part of the fun for me smile

The offer is for "any full price car wash for 50p"

So any car wash that would be for example £2.50, you present the voucher and you get it for 50p.

Excellent. Put my Mundaneo through my local BP's wash last time this offer was on- it's about to get the shock of it's life in the form of a second wash in three weeks

Similar result can be had driving through a thorn bush or possibly using a wire brush.

I have bitter experience of this.

Barge and pole if you value having paint on your car.

I think anyone who has similar concerns about thorn bushes will simply leave the thread.

As per my earlier post, I'm sure there are people with cars that get 'car-washed' regularly. This is just good VFM for those people.

Jeez, anyone would think I'd suggested raping babies. FFS, almost wish I hadn't bothered...

Not at all Funk was not having a go at your posting just advising people that if they value their car or paintwork at all they really need to avoid the carwash and just use the jet wash instead.

I sent a text message for the code, then after reading the rest of the thread went and checked 'participating stores' on their website just in case (there is a BP carwash 1/2 a mile from my house). The nearest is fking 45 miles away, absolute bunch of s.

OP - I'm billing you for 10mins of wasted time (£166.66) + text message, what you have done is equivalent to mass genocide redfacemadfuriousragecursebanghead

On a simular note OP, I have been informed that the car wash will remove my paint- In which case you can expect an invoice for a total re-spray biggrin
