Hello,

Recently returned to gaming after a long absence. Tried a few of the popular first person shooters but got bored relatively quickly.

Is there like a first person shooter with a bit more of the puzzle solving or the stealth/sneaky sneaky approach to killing folk rather than just running about blowing everything up? To play on my PC.

I'm kinda out of touch with modern games.

Whats the modern PC equivalent of Tomb Raider 2 or the original Resident Evil? Hugely enjoyed playing them on my playstation many years ago.

Cheers

DB.

Not really like tomb raider but fallout 3 is one of the best games I've played and will be quite cheap now

Agree with both the above recommendations, also try Mass Effect 2, it's awesome.

As discussed above;
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Fallout 3 / New Vegas

I think both will fit your bill. Be warned that fallout is an absolute time vampire.

Tried assassins creed series?

Another vote for Fallout 3 here, get the GOTY edition, and prepare to kiss your life goodbye, because I kid you not, you will say "I'll give it another 10 minutes" and then three hours later you'll still be there..........

Portal 1/2. First person, not really a shooter though. Great puzzles, great story and characters.

Forgot to add the obvious one - Battlefield 3.

No reason to get bored of that, there are so, so, so many ways to kill people (and die) and lots of vehicles to learn to use with it, as well as ways to kill the vehicles!

+1 for Skyrim.

Made by the same people who did fallout series, similar sort of game but in a medieval setting. Absolute monster of a game and looks stunning, even on a standard home PC rig.

It will rob you of any free time you have. Soon you'll start creating free time that never existed before, until one day you quit your job, sell your family and rent a box room with one pair of clothes, pizza hut on speed dial and your PC.

This may or may not be a slight exaggeration, it's too early to tell yet...
