Wheel Alignment - North West

Evening All,

Recently had new shoes put on the Merc, this wasnt completed at the Merc Dealer after the last episode (previous thread) but instead completed by a national tyre outfit (cracking job).

Trouble is, they said they couldnt complete a full balance and alignment due to a specific tool needing to be used, I have the balancing values, but they told me that only the Merc dealer has this particular key/tool that enables them to complete the task.

Firstly, am I being blagged?, as I begrudge going back to the dealer for anything other than warranty work. Secondly, does anyone know of anywhere in the North West other than a Merc dealer that can balance the wheels etc (basically has this particular tool). Its an 09 C Class by the way.

Any help much appreciated.

It might be the slotted bolts that they were on about.

Personally I've got nothing but praise for 4wheelalignment.co.uk (from memory) who are on Forth Street in Bootle. Seem to really know their business - got a couple of Hunter machines. They did my SL500 a couple of weeks ago and it's lovely.

It now appears I'm dragging two cars to get this done, I take it it's the same for a C250 08 aswell as a C63?

Will try that place in bootle, was hoping MB Tech in Warrington did it, but the 'net' is saying no at the moment.

If you need a full alignment I'd stick with a specialist in doing just that.
