Knowing that I like to change cars my fleet manager has asked if I want to swap my BMW 320d for a ford Kuga. Have not actually seen one in the metal never mind driven one. Anyone one got one ? How is it ?

My neighbour has one, quite a nice Soft-Roader

I would say go for it. Oh and you have a good fleet manager hehe Although best trying one first to be sure. Ask him if you can test drive it to see what you think.

Autoexpress recently did a softroader roadtest and placed it between the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. Not bad considering its a Ford and the company it was in.

Hi New to the forum.....so my first post.

Driven a couple of Kugas both 140ps oil burners...I loved the torque..driving position and in the Titanium x equipment levels...effortless to drive did a rush hour 4-7 drive across the M62 and an easy drive...

Compared to 320 d you'll miss foot down......road holding but you'll love the rest.

Ford fusion aside, I don't think ford have made a bad car for the past 10 years.

And the Ford Fusions hold their value very well, I believe.

sounding like a good idea so far. Suppose it will be better in the crappy weather than the BMW and an added bonus will be with the seats down the dog will fit (I think)cool

How is your business and private fuel funded? You might want to compare the MPG.

And the BIK tax rates? I guess the BMW is dearer so that may balance out its lower CO2.

FWIW my singer has a Fusion on an 03 plate. Dull as dishwater but big load area, very easy loading (which is why he got it, PA etc) and he's not had any problems with it at all smile

My mum has one.

Interior space wise I'd say they're like a slightly bigger focus, but with the rear seats down we she's carried up to 4 medium to large dogs at once.

They're quite Focus like to drive, for a soft small 4x4 I'd say exceptional, but even in normal hatchback company I'd say pretty decent.

She gets about 40mpg from her 2.0TDCI model driven properly (but not thrashed) on mostly Scottish highland A roads.

With winter tyres it was most impressive over the last two years. There has been plenty of snow up there, with plenty of chance to test it. We used it to pull my hopelessly stuck Mondeo ST out of foot deep, heavily ice crusted (2/3 inches of solid ice on the front window) snow which was good enough, but did even better helping out an Audi A6 Allroad which had become totally stuck on our drive, much to the driver's humiliation. I don't think there has been a single occasion when she has been stranded.

The worst fault I can think of is that the chrome/nickel/whatever strip at the bottom of the windows has stained the rear door paintwork. Water running off it seems to be reacting with the paint. Apart from that, I don't remember any other faults. It's done about 60k now from new.
