Trooper or Patrol ?????

I'm looking to change my Toyota HiLux Surf(3rd Gen) next year, at almost 17 it's still in it's prime and been a good work horse for me over the past 3 years, But SWMBO thinks we should have somthing a bit newer.

A Nissan Patrol or Isuzu Tropper spring to mind as suitable alternatives, But don't know much about them ?? Looking aroung the £5k -£6K mark would appear to get me somthing thats hopefully not done mega miles through the fields ??

Must be fit for towing work trailer, large twin axle caravan and esay access for dogs getting in and out the rear. Split/fold down tail gates are not an option with the caravan hitched on.

Tell her you'll keep the old workhorse and spend the money saved against buying an unknown quantity as a replcement on an extra holiday. Then spend half the savings on the holiday or whatever and leave the other half in reserve in case anything breaks on the existing vehicle

What year is your Surf and have you got any pics?

ETA: BTW...Agree with Ben on the Nissan Patrol. I hear they are really good.
