Hi,

Halfords are now selling a brand of bikes called whistle, so called big in USA and EU.

I understand how halfords work and know all about their building etc as I have had a Boardman off them in the past.

I dont know anything about road bikes but I do know that I can get a fantastic deal on one of these.

Lets take this Whistle Crow ultegra - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

I can get this for approx £1k.

Purely as a comparison of specs is this going to be a good buy compared to anything else I can buy out there at the £1k mark.

Thanks.

have to say its a new one on me but by all accounts they have been in the UK for a while stocked by independants. it looks like another canyon-esque online only set up until now. they seem to be popular in italy and have had a pro team based there for a few years. they are designed in colorado and no doubt made in taiwan.

whilst trying to source a manufacturer I cam across this piece of advice "when in taiwan, do not whistle or ring a bell at night as this is an invitation to ghosts" so there you are...

if you can get it for £1K you would be mad not to get it. At RRP of £1900 there are other things around that would tempt me away from it to be honest because those own brand wheels arent inspiring when other £2K bikes are coming fitted with ultegra and Mavic/DT Swiss wheels.
