Sorry to hear this Gwiz - they leave such a void when they are gone.

I'm sure you have lots of happy memories that will ease your troubles over time.

lymph glands, honestly i have had a lot of exposure to woofers, but he was something else. bit crap with eye sight, bit useless, but the best friend every, he knew and felt emotions. He came and sat with me yesterday (was not able to jump on sofa so i picked him up knowing he was unwell;) spent 15 min with me, then pawed my leg and i put him down on the floor again, he settled down by the woodburner had a kip and when i got up this morning he had a sort of fit, i called the vets out and he said it was time. not in pain but, just time. He even sat on my lap as they injected him..... very calm end.

buired him under his favorite baby oak tree in the garden... I'm ruined.

Very sorry to hear your sad news.

I've recently lost one of my cats and I know what a crappy feeling it is.

Keep your chin up.

Chin Up Mate, a loss is never easy.

I cried for a week solid when we lost one of our pets a few years back, still get choked now.

Gutted mate, gutted.

I've held the family dog whilst they injected his final dose.

Will never forget him or that horrible day in the vets.

Sympathies from Mr & Mrs Tack.

I know you're pain. It's rubbish eh? Can't really say anything to make it feel any better, but can say i've been there and I feel for you. It's right up there in my life for feeling bloody low points. Sure as hell wont be forgotten though!

I'm so so sorry for your loss, a true friend to you. And as his true friend you allowed him to have a peaceful and dignified ending. Cherish the memories.

Really sad to hear of your loss. frown
Nice that you were able to help him relax in the final moments and he was sat on your lap.
It was the right thing to do.

Agree with others, you did the kindest thing to minimise his suffering.

I'm sorry to hear this, just remember the loss you feel now is directly proportional to the love he gave you in life. It's feeling like this that shows you just how much you loved each other in life!
