lovely mirrors
Discussion
Hi Folks!
Yes the TT mirrors are on mine and yes they were a bit of a git to fit!
It took me 4 or 5 hours to complete the job and a fair bit of persistence with a grinder to reshape the castings that mount the mirrors. Then I had to shape the plastic covers at the mirror base, did this by using the door as the profile with a coarse sheet of sanding paper facing outwards and rubbed the base of the mounting cover over the sheet until the profile suited the door shape.
I think it was worth it in the end, you can see a lot more than with the original mirrors and they can be electrically operated and heated if I wish to spend a bit more time on them in future.
I follwed a Mk I MX5 this morning and they looked like they'd fit easily but the mounts are smaller than the original S mirrors so you'd need to fill and spray the door a bit.
