mate caught speeding on M3

Mate came round today.

He showed me a little form that a nice mr plod gave him.

He was doing about full 10.0 units down the M3 and a lazer spouting police officer zapped him.

Bit further down the motorway he got pulled over.

Police offer was quite cool He said that although he was clocked at 102MPH, he was very happy with the style of driving (safe, no undertaking etc) and he was happy with the state of the car. Everything was very polite and the officer using his wisdom gave him a standard fixed penalty.

Now thats what I call a good result. He was breaking the law, should have been taken to court but the policeman used his expericnce to gage that he was safe and just needed a kick in the backside.

Which brings about my final comment

I saw them out on the m3 once, it was on a bridge near winchester. I went under it thinking "What on earth are those two white boxes on tripods on the bridge?" then i saw three high speed chase volvos hiding under the bridge supports. The boxes appeared to be unmanned. Anyone know what kind of trap this is?
