Interesting that it had to be the result of an undercover documentary team. Everyone involved with that mosque must have known what was going on, he didn't exactly do it in secret, yet were happy for it to continue. Islam, the religion of peace (after you beat it into the kids first).

To be fair(and as much as I like to bash islam having familial experience of this medieval "faith") I think the culture of silence would likely have been the same in any religious institution. Just look at the Cat'lick kiddy fiddlers.

To an extent it would, and as you know I don't defend any religion, especially Catholicism. Bear in mind though even the most degenerate Catholic priests didn't bugger their charges during group activities. And if a teacher at Sunday school behaved like this they wouldn't last a week. It was so visible that there's no question it was seen as accepted practice.

The undercover chap in that film is a friend on mine. The chap needs a medal.

I doubt it. In that film he pretty much placed the camera, and couldn't do much more. I'll ask him.

I'd imagine that his criminal record will now mean he cannot work with kids though.

IIRC, there are no restrictions in these institutions.

Really? Surprised if there would be no CRB needed to work in a school, regardless of whether its secular or a fairy story based school.

The crap they spout in these places, I really doubt they would give a fk, to be honest, of he wasn't allowed. I wonder what action has been undertaken by the parents of the children since the programme?

Not a 'school' though, is it?

There was a big piece on R4 a few weeks back about the background and behaviour of some people working in some and they would most certainly not be working in an actual school.

My misunderstanding then, I thought this was happening at a faith school.

This joint is like a sunday school conducted by the church.

No need for any checks there. I doubt the parents did not know about this. Most asian parents would tell their kids ' you must have misbehaved for the teacher to give you a slap... you deserved it' and forget about it. If the child says the teacher kicked him...the parents would just think it was exaggeration. Not to mention the cultural background of most of the parents...they all got caned as a kid.

You cannot blame anyone here except the teacher and the institution. They should know better on how to conduct themselves in a western european society. You cannot behave like you do in south asia here.

Unfotunately, that simple rule is unenforced by us and completely disregarded by those who come here.

Pretty clear filming of him beating kids and he has the cheek ( I know he has the right ) to appeal. Would have thought he'd be happy to take the soft sentance and get it over with.
With regards to where he would be sent, would this be made public info now convicted ?
