He might just be pining for the fjords...

9 months old, at least you know it'll be fixed under warranty without any question. And then it'll come back with lights, levels and pressures checked and a full valet. Worse things in life, and I always enjoy being at the delears... usually an attractive receptionist, brand new cars to sit in and cupboards full of Aston tat/merchandise!

Silver lining smile

The horrible metallic "Tick Tick" may be nothing more than the engine on limp home mode.
We had an instance where the oil temp went over 140 degrees and the ecu decided it was too hot and went into limp mode. Really does sound like its dropped a valve!

We re-set the ecu and after a few minutes the car went off again - no problem. It was caused because the driver was pushing really had right behind another car and the temp simply kept climbing.

Not saying thats your issue, but dont get worried its an engine rebuild just yet!!

The temp gauge stayed bang centre , oil level is ok and I check after every 500 miles. There was no abrupt bang or loss of power , first the lights than the message then the noises , will find out tomorrow ?

I feel for you. My 2 week old 2012 Vantage S had a problem after 203 miles. It's been at service for almost a week. On wednesday they got the problem to resurface and sent the data to AML. Today I was told that AML wants them to repeat the problem and send them a second set of data. It took them 3 days to get the transmission failure. I have no idea when they'll be able to get it to happen again.

I, too, hope you have a suitable loaner. I have nothing because they towed the car to the dealer. They did offer to drive it back to my home when they were done, though.
