I'm pretty sure it's not down to cracks / porous as when I take them to the garage and they take the wire brush to all the flaking paint they are ok for a few weeks then start again. I'm having to fill them with air twice a week!

Will a sand blast an repaint sort it???

No refurb needed, you just need to bead sorting out.

The rear on one of my bikes was doing this from new. The last time I had a new tyre I mentioned it to my usual fitter and he fitted it with some kind of bead sealer. Been ok ever since

Place near me does a tyre of sandblast and repaint of the insideof the wheel for £25

What car is it?. If its not worth spending on could you fill the tyres with that puncture seal stuff? Not tyreweld the stuff you can put in to seal punctures as they happen. Might fix the problem.

yeah, a good tyre fitter can apply a black tacky substance which helps seal the tyre. I've seen this done when I provided my good local fitter (a good small business, I don't use the big sh1p places) with some second-hand tyres to fit. He applied some thick black stuff to the rim edges before fitting the tyre. He does not normally do that with new tyres. The tyres have not needed refilling any time in the last 4 months since they were done. In fact the previous tyre on one of those rims was going down over a period of about 6 weeks.

You just need some "bead sealer", either on eBay or if your local to Essex I've loads of it you can have.

It may not be the bead. Try it in the bath (preferably when no-ones looking)
If not you might need to paint the inside of the wheel to seal the aluminium itself.
If you can get another on ebay for a decent price go for that, but make sure it's not being sold due to being porous

He uses bead sealer but it still degrades and leaks. Might go for getting The insides blasted
