A bespoke Bentley with a 27 litre naturally aspirated Merlin engine.

600 HP

2 mpg

An engineering masterpiece.

Fabulous.

Just fabulous.

Like Leno's tank car, but brutally British. biggrin

Incidentally, what happened to the Meteor-engined SD1?

She's off the road at the moment after being converted to fuel injection and LPG. Charlie had issues with the ECU being lost in the post and sold on eBay a week later by retailandtradeoutlet (formally known as longlivethehoff). The car is currently having gearbox issues and if Will' (editor of PPC) leaves Charley alone long enough he'll get it sorted. wink

Hopefully the Rover will be ready in time for the PPC RWYB day at Santa Pod on March 31st. You're more than welcome along pick up a copy of PPC or have a look on the website for more details.

Fixed that for you OP smile

It's a fantastic replica of a Vanden Plas bodied Blower Bentley, but it's no Bentley, and the chassis/engine have no connection to Bentley at all.

If someone took a Vintage Bentley chassis and put a WO Bentley aero engine in it, you wouldn't say "Now THAT is a Rolls Royce" even if it did have a very well done replica Barker body and Rolls Royce rad on it nuts

There was a mad Australian who chopped a V12 Merlin into a V twin, spent a couple of hundred hours balancing it and when it was running right he dropped it into a motorbike. I'll post some pics when I get home.

Cool project and well engineered but doesn't do anywhere near the performance it's claimed to do.

Did not realise that there was a Facebook page. Interesting.

The classic one that I always remember as a child.

Although I do love the Rover SD1 version.

Seem to recall a Merlin engine consuming £500 worth of oil for an oil change, several years ago. Gulp..

Is that right..?
