I can never understand why car manufacturers (not only Jaguar) endow their test cars with body adornments/colour schemes/camouflage tape etc. that only serve to draw attention to the car in question, which is exactly what they don't want.
If the car was left "au naturel" it probably wouldn't receive a second glance.

As it has 'SPORTBRAKE' written on the side I expect they actually want heads to turn and the 'spy shots' as advertising!mph said:

The camouflarge could be because they havent finalised the details, or the fit n finish wont be up to production standard (and of course the press wont make allowances for this: "New Brit built Jag has paint finish from Leyland..." etc etc rather then "500k mile test hack has surprisingly good paint finish")
Once its launched the testing will continue without camouflarge, even before deliveries have been undertaken. I once met one of the Aston test drivers. His role that month was to take a new car, and drive it. To look for traffic jams and join them. Take the kids to school in it. Park it on the kerb. Take it to the Gym/pub/supermarket. Anything that an owner might do. Only 10 times a day.
