I have recently changed car to a BMW 3.0 Z4 Roadster. This is the first convertible i have owned and all of a sudden ive started getting a raft of people wanting to tell me what they think and that the car is a hairdressers car. No promting what so ever, they just spout it out! This doesnt bother me in the slightest what bothers me is cars which are amazing to drive and go like stink Z4,Boxster,s2000,Elise(even a T.V.R griff by some nob-hed)seem to get a battering.

Im a petrolhead so have no predudice against age, brand, configuration, just that it must handle and have a decent engine (V6 or V8 preferably). I love all 4 wheeled machines!

If i need to take lessons in highlighting hair and spread my cheeks to drive these cars then sign me up now!

It's ignorance, and you'll find that most people that say the hairdresser thing have never driven the car in their life.

Had they driven it they wouldn't say it.

I bought a S2000, never had an issue with the above....oddly enough most non petrolheads dont know what it is.

I do get dirty looks from people on a sunny day though, but I think that is all covertible owners.

If you enjoy driving it, what do you care?

I would feel a bit of a ghey in an MX 5, Boxster, S2000 plain Z4.

However I have took a Z4 3.0 Con out and really enjoyed it just felt.....well a little ghey.

Wouldn't in a Z4M or TVR, don't ask me why I just wouldn't.

I've never understood it myself. Although a friend of mine with a Mk1 MX5 does have "No hairdressing equipment left in this vehicle over night" on the rear bumper, which I though was rather good!

Thinking that a car would make you feel a bit ghey says more about you than the cars you mentioned to be honest. wink

Jealousy. If you haven't got a German diesel rep-rocket these days you're obviously an idiotic gay hairdresser who spends too much on cars.
