Weight of standard Griff seats ?
Discussion
What is the weight of a standard Griff seat ? The scrutiner is not impressed by the movement of my seat on the runners and it started me thinking about a non adjustable fixing and then I thought about fitting a pair of after market seats. The second option becomes more interesting if it will make a noticeable weight loss.
Does anybody have aftermarket fitted along with the TVR roll bar, and can the normal belts still be used on th road ?

steve,
i have a TVR roll bar (see profile) in mine with three point harness and they fit over the existing floor mounts, so they can be folded away in normal use.
can only help with approx weights as i have had the seats out. i'd say approx 15-20lb ea (7-10kg). there not particulary heavy as there's not much to them.
good weight saving for sprints...take one out!
PS leaves more room for wheels

Check the regs first... they usuallyy say you can replace but not remove.
Competition seats will be lighter but it all depends on how much money you want to spend. Most of the catalogues can quote a weight.
Biggest problem is finding one that fits you and fits in the car. Been discussed recently on the Chimaera list.
