I'm new to all these new fangled TV's, and have now bitten the bullet and bought a 40" Sony Bravia. It says on the box it is an Internet TV. I have a ADSL wifi box - do I need to buy a dongle to plug into the TV's USB socket for the TV to connect to the Internet? It would be quite handy for me, using a bigger screen from time to time!
Easier to plug in a lan cable if you can...otherwise you have to buy the Sony dongle as the TV only has the drivers installed for this one.
IIRC it's about £70 so I've not bothered getting one for my Sony TV in the kitchen, though might run a cable at some point (stupidly overlooked this when I run the cables for it
).
PS.It's not like you can use the TV to go on the web as such, just Youtube and iPlayer type stuff...it's OK and easy enough to use via the remote, but not a replacement for a PC.
