When i go up town which is not very often, it's free to park after 6:30 and as i'm only there for an evening have never had to think about this, but what if i want to park over night.
Can i park free after 6:30 all night, then call to pay for 2 hours in the morning, from 08:30 - 10:30
I read somewhere about it being a 4 hour max on a pay and display, but does this apply to a free stay after 6:30 on a phone to pay space ?

Cheers

You might want to be a bit more specific as London is quite big and different councils have different rules.

Usually yes if it says free after a certain time you can leave a car overnight free of charge and only pay when it says charging starts again.

However everywhere is different and overnight parking might be not be allowed so it's important to read all the terms and conditions and notices carefully wherever it is you're planning to park.
