Broken Bolt Removal

Anyone know somewhere near Maidenhead/Marlow/High Wycombe/Reading that can remove sheared off bolts?

One of my brake carrier bolts has sheared off in the carrier itself and will not budge. Probably need someone to weld a piece of bar onto it to remove.

Could you try hammering/cutting a groove in the end and using a flat head screw driver to unscrew? Had to do it once and worked well!

Or drill a hole into the middle of the bolt, down the centre line. Put a small bar of metal/screwdriver in and fill with a little expanding/hardening foam. Leave to set then you've got something to hold onto/use for leverage

Is the car driveable? If so then any old exhaust place should be able to quickly weld something onto it for you.

Or file two flats on it and use a spanner. This and all of the above should be tried only after dosing liberally in Plus Gas and leaving to penetrate. WD40 doesn't cut it in extreme circumstances.
You could also try applying some heat to the surrounding area which may help.
Only other thing I can suggest is swearing at it. Have been using this method for years to great effect.

Drilling is normally a pita on carrier bolts, I know! They are all 12.9 hardness. If you can drill it then use a stud extractor that is reverse threaded then thats a good way. But every one I tried on the Scooby just snapped. Its normally cause they are dis similar metals, ali carriers and steel bolts, they corrode together.

I had to just drill mine pretty much all the way out, then heli coiled the remaining hole. If you need an M10 heli I have a set for that.

Could try the glue/weld a bolt on to the shaft, good luck. I hate shearing a bolt.
