I was waiting stationary for a break in the traffic to turn right onto an adjacent road when some clown ploughed into my car just as I began to start my turn causing the below damage:

It was quite a heavy impact as I think my car did most of his braking for him as he ran the whole length of the drivers side, starting at rear wheel and grinding his way to the front arch. Pretty much every panel has damage on the drivers side and the drivers door no longer opens (unsuprisingly). The two wheels (which are 1 month old) are also chipped and scuffed along with chunks missing from the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres (£130 a piece by themselves).

If this is repaired (which I would want done without the use of bodyfiller) how much can I expect to claim of the offender for loss of value to my vehicle. I imagine that this accident will show up on future hpi checks? The top private value of the car on What Car is 6500. 2005 VW Golf 2.0 FSI GT, 51,000 miles.

Cheers,

Rear suspension gubbed? Looks a bit wonky in the picture.
The sill is crushed as well.

Not looking good. Were you hurt at all?

I am almost certainly questioning/stating the obvious - but does it always sit that high at the back?

Can't work out if it is the angle of the shot, or if the rear is higher than it should be, and the wheel "twisted" towards the front of the car.

Rear axle looks a right mess. I take it he tried to overtake as you were turning?

I have a bit of a sore shoulder but nothing serious luckily. The car is sitting high in the picture as I had just jacked it up to see why the wheel was sitting so close to front of the arch. The suspension arm has been bent about 45 degree.

I'm not sure what he thought he was trying to do, according to him I just 'appeared from nowhere'... I was stationary for 10-15 seconds. The car in the background is parked, so I'm guessing he woke up moments from hitting me and tried to dive onto the oncoming lane..

Damage doesn't look bad but if the sill has been damaged along with the suspension then the chance it will be repaired is not massive. I recently saw a 2008 S3 that had similar damage to yours but without the suspension and the car drove as normal but because the sill had been damaged the insurance company chose to write it off

I'm by no means an expert but FWIW the car probably won't be written off, the claim for loss of value might piss them off though.

Glad to see you're okay. Best of luck for your upcoming war with the insurance company.

ETA: Wasn't aware of sill damage... that may complicate things.
