Not that surprised unfortunately, incredible cars but the marketplace for second-hand models just isn't there, which has an enormous knock-on effect to their residuals, thus making them a very expensive ownership proposition.

Waste of time and money in my opinion, they should have just done an ultra exclusive S class, like the 600 in the 60's.

I never liked them as they were quite ugly - the two-tone paintwork didn't help

I'm with AndrewIC on this one - the Mercedes 600 was the top German luxury car in its day, bar none. Why not follow that model instead of digging-up some dead brand that the masses have never even heard of and trying to build something new from the ground up, requiring huge capital investment from the dealers and Daimler corporate?? They were/are incredible cars to ride in or drive, and could be ordered in tasteful color schemes, etc., they just wore the wrong badge.
