I recently changed the oil in the diff, and have just noticed a small puddle of oil on the garage floor.
I think this could be a combination of things:
1.It may be slightly overfilled (it was perfectly level when filled).
2. I've recently had the front end jacked right up to work on the lights (is there a breather it could have leaked out of?).
3. The new oil could be thinner (it's the right grade, etc. just newer and 'runnier').
I reckon it's only about 10-20ml, but would rather it was nothing!!
What other parts can leak - guessing at drive/prop shaft seals? I'd rather not pull it out if I could help it, but am considering renewing the rear wishbone bushes, so could be easier?

Hi there, there is usually a breather on the top of the casing (what diff is it GKN/BTR). Did you tighten the filler plug and drain plug sufficiently? You should not be able to spill oil out of the breather just by jacking the front unless you had severely overfilled the unit! Have you checked closely with a torch to see if there is evidence of oil leaking out anywhere? Have you driven the car since changing the oil then noticed the small pool afterwards? Pete
