It's not on, is it?
My housemate just did it to me. Came home yesterday and lo and behold there's a cat.
It's not even the cat that's annoyed me, it's the fact he didn't ask if it was ok. I don't think our landlord allows pets for starters and secondly I don't want it smelling the place up..
Still, I probably would have said OK to it under some conditions (Cat related loss of deposit = all on him, etc)..

I just think it's a total dick move.

Take it straight to an animal refuge or whatever they're called, tell him it ran away. If it ain't chipped, you should get away with it! biggrin

I already have a goldfish. I guess I'll have to get some kind of cat protection for him now.

Buy a dog that would eat the cat and bite the housemate. Dog then has to go, cat is gone and the housemate has learned a valuable lesson. It's the only sensible way forward

Get a goat. Or just tell your housemate to move out. Keep the cat.

Get 2 cats. Watch the situation escalate rapidly out of control. Open your own Zoo. Reap the rewards.

I would politely suggest, that if that's your biggest problem today, you're doing pretty well

Their food, piss and st does. I can always tell when someone has a cat the second I walk into their kitchen.

Cats are pretty cool, they can be stinkers until they get to go outside. Ours spends 50% of its time outside, so dont require litter tray, no more stinker.

We have no cat flap and I'm pretty sure he said it's going to be a house cat. My housemates pretty prissy, so if I just force him to have all the stinky st in his room he'll probably get rid of the cat on his own.
