If so how long did it take to get the V5C back? From past experience it's only taken around a week to 10 days for the confirmation to come back shortly followed by the V5C.

Basically I have sold my car, the DVLA have confirmed the retention, I got the new tax disc and MOT form but they say that the V5C will be at least 4 - 6 weeks.

Is this genuinely how long they are taking now?

I know it can take this long if a keeper change is involved but there isn't with mine, I used to get it al back pretty quickly, although the last one I did was 2 years ago.

Did it two months ago. V5C was about two weeks, retention cert about four to five, from memory.

Everything came back within 10 working days including the V5C and the retention certificate even though when I rang I was assured it would be "at least 4 - 6 weeks and not before".

Happy days!

done 2 in the last month both times paperwork received back within 5 working days and retention certificate arriving about 2 days later

also done a transfer last week from one car to another received paperwork in 3 working days

all in all hats of to the dvla as in many years never seen service like that, but maby because i hand everything in at a local office now it speeds things up rather than rely on posting etc

Just had one back in about a week from the day I bought the vehicle, I don't know if the old keeper sent it off the day I bought it or a day or two later.

Ours took 4 weeks, all previous ones have taken a matter of a week or so if that!
