I'm a longtime Honda CRX owner and recently read about and drove the Peugeot 107 in the Forza Motorsport 4 video game.

It seems like the little C1/107/Aygo is the neatest and lightest little car out there. Is it any good on the road? How's the steering? The suspension setup?

The CRX is the new CRX.
There is nothing else like it.
Them little French built things are about 60bhp, the CRX was 130 or 150bhp. A bit of a differencesmile

The CRXes we had came with 52, 75, 90, or 108 hp - but obviously more powerful engines were available - mine now has 180+ from a screaming B16. It's not that much more fun than it was with 90 though.

but it was fun smile

Clutch was made out of Papier-mache though.

I bet they were automatic as wellbiggrin
In Japan there was an SIR version with a LSD and 160BHP. I never realised they made so many lower powered ones.I know the later cab ones had a 123bhp and 160bhp in the UK, but I was never into them.
I had 2 130BHP 1.6-16 from 1989, and thought they were fantastic.

The C1 is a good around town car and has quite fun handling upto about 50mph. It goes quite quick for a 1 litre aswell. Motorway journeys are a little scary as it weighs naff all it gets blown about by trucks abit. High speed cornering is a bit iffy too with its skinny tyres but some lowering and wider alloys should cure some of this.

It's pretty cheap to run too + they do a supercharger kit but it would be cheaper to just buy a faster car.

There are some downsides tho. I wish mine had more power - 120bhp would be nice. Also the boots small so it is pretty crap for weekly shopping trips etc. The interior marks easy aswell.

If only i had a spare £5k! I love my C1, very nippy, great round town and gives me an exciting ride on the dual carriageway!

Spend £5K tuning a 1.0 shopping trolley?

So, what price is a 2nd hand 182 Clio?

I had a quick look at a 107 a few years ago and couldn't believe how rubbish the interior was. All the controls looked like they had been made by Fisher Price and the door trims didn't even cover the whole of the door.

Seriously people would choose one over a second hand BMW, Audi or Mercedes?

Would be interesting to see if it's possible to fit some decent seats in there, standard ones are terrible (I'm not the biggest of blokes but they're notably narrow)

Feels like you're sitting too high and has a gearbox like a bag of spanners too.

Have you actually checked how light they are? Bit more porky than you might think. And even with that turbo kit it'd be less powerful than a lot of competitors.

C1 plus a turbo kit is rather close to renaultsport twingo money...

Because BMW, Audi, or Mercedes make anything like the C1/107/Aygo.

You mean a small, poorly built, horrible, noisy car?

Toyota AYGO GO! With built in sat nav (£99 Tom Tom glued to the dash) £8995 (Plus another £410 if you don't want red or recession white). Seriously, I could buy a very nice second hand car for that.

Just hired one while away (107)
Quite good fun tbh.
It is what it is. It's built to a price, it carries 4 in reasonable comfort, can park it almost anywhere, perfect for zipping around town and it drinks like an Amish camel.
Can't knock it.

ETA...new CRX though?! Er..no..

Are you seriously comparing the price of a new car to the price of a used one?

Because sometimes people want a new car, not an old leggy one with a fance badge.

Personal choice is a big part of living in the free world.

God dude you are right man it is sick

I think that it is so fking retarded to buy a brand new car it should be illegal for anyone to buy a brand new car

That would be awesome if everyone only ever bought secondhand cars

The roads would be just packed full of BMWs and Audis it would be AWESOME
