I need to do the gear linkage bushes on the 450 and was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the linkage set up and/or the job itself as they did it?

Cheers

I don't have a pic - but I did the job this time last year. I replaced the rubber bushes for poly ones, but i did this with the gearbox out the car. I reckon it will be a tough job to do in situ. I you have any specific questions I'll try and tell you what you need to know...

Jimbo,
Put in a search for remote linkage bushes, its from around March 2010.
I posted a couple of pix of new bushes fitted on mine.
Hope they help.

Dave.

Hope these help. I did the job a few years ago with the box in situ, and don't recall it being overly difficult.

Hey Jimbo,
It's a dead ordinary job. It can be done in situ with the car on stands, I put poly ones on mine earlier this year and I changed the oil, it was a gearbox transformation.....
I held the linkage up with a cable tie over the chassis which helps as it's your third hand, I think the front pair were harder to do so do those first as your arms go dead. The long and the short of it is, it can be done without too much bother to other components, it's just tricky but well worth it. Get the car as high as you can.
Good luck

Thanks guys very helpful indeed. A gearbox oil change was on the cards as part of next springs service so hopefully if i manage to do these bushes it'll be another improvement.

I'll let you know how i get on but it may be a while as i have list of things still to do over the winter.

Cheers
