new car ideas needed about £7/8k budget

beeds to be a quick reasonably good handling car, its going to be a weekend toy so can be a 2 seater or a 4 seater, 2 or 4 doors, estate, saloon or sports car, looking for something sub 5 secs to 60 not that those figures mean anything in the real world

Pretty open really just looking for some suggestions that i might not of thought about,

the cars i have been considering are as follows

Evo 6
Audi S4
RX7 (maybe)
E46 M3
Lotus Elise (might need to up the budget a little they seem to be going up in price)

any other ideas

Elise if second car. Everyone needs to own one of these at some point in their life. Buy now, whilst the market is crap and winter sets in, prices should come down a little. Check out SELOC.

All the others will depreciate more and will not leave as big a smile on your face!

you can't really consider the Elise alongside all thos other cars- they're barges! As the above poster says, as a second car, Elise without question.

VX220 might be worth a look. The 2.2 in that should certainly feel a lot more grunty than the k series in an early S1 Elise.

Also, you should be able to get a good Z3M in budget. Might be worth a look
