Selling private number plates.

Right, i've been offered a car pretty cheap, that does come with a private number plate.

I was thinking of maby selling the plate on as a way of making a few £ back on the cost of the car. However not too sure how I would go about it. Anybody here ever sold a private plate? Got any advice?

Ypur first step is to make sure the number can actually be transferred at all. If it's an older car and the original number plate has already been sold or transferred then DVLA will have issued a new "ageless" plate. They will also have added a note that the new ageless plate cannot be sold or transferred.
