I was told today that the waiting list for MP12-4c the hard top car in RHD is out to Q1 2013 whilst the convertible deliveries are expected Q2 2013, so it you want an MP12 and you're not already in the queue you may as well put yourself down for a convertible.

anybody heard different?
any details on the convertible?

Antony Sheriff, McLaren Automotive Managing Director has been quoted:

"The next step was to construct a range of pure McLaren high performance sports cars that are true to the company’s philosophy and reflect our position as an absolute technology and performance leader. So, when we embarked on the 12C project, we wanted to re-write the rules of sports car design".

The 2012 model features a slightly modified look - a bit wider with new air intakes and a new spoiler lip making the car more aggressive than previously, and the rear side received the same treatment + exposed carbon fiber elements.

McLaren is planning for a full model range with four more models already on the drawing boards.

They will be basing their lineup on “tiers,” with cabrio versions in all tiers.

The MP4-12C, whose original name was P11, represents McLaren’s middle tier because it goes against the Ferrari 458 and the Lamborghini Gallardo.

The next model is internally dubbed the P12 and is said to rival cars in the segment of the Lamborghini Aventador and is being considered as a McLaren F1 successor.

The next car will be cheaper and that’s codenamed the P13 which will be a non-turbo Porsche 911 alternative.

As for the fourth model, no details have been released.

But after learning about the aforementioned, it’s safe to assume that the next car will be codenamed the P14 - but because McLaren has two very important segments already covered with the current MP4-12C and the new P12 and P13 models that are in the works, this leaves question for the P14.

Could McLaren reach far down market, or will they produce a Bugatti-competitor that will be the ultimate expression of McLaren could do?

I called McManchester to enquire a couple of weeks back, they said that no waiting list has been formed as yet, and they refused to take a deposit..... How rude!!!
