Afternoon Chaps,

I'm after some advice on cleaning products for the car, i appreciate this has probably been done before but the search function does'nt work for me for some odd reason.
Currently i have a Scenic with the usual light coloured fabric patterened interior.
As you can imagine, the boy being a toddler thinks it's incredibly funny to throw food all over the seats, the gf is always dropping stuff and theres just general dirt on the seats, carpets etc.
What's the best thing to use to get it out & have it smelling nice again, it's mainly chocolate & general dirt, but i'd also like some good dash cleaner (dash is matt black at the moment).
Can anyone recommend anything / methods that are'nt going to rinse the bank account?

Thanks

SBN

carpet cleaning products will help... or try steam cleaning.

Most mobile valets will offer an interior steam clean for around £30

Cheers

Best off the shelf carpet cleaner I have found is the Auto Glym areosol - the one with the Blue Square on the front; not the pump action spray.

Generally has shifted anything I have used it on, great product imo.

If it's a one-off then I'd get someone in to give the car a proper valet inside. Otherwise, get a George. I picked up one from ebay that had only been used once for £100 including all the accessories. In combination with Autoglym car interior shampoo it's scary how much dirt comes out of the carpets. Also very good for carpets in the house but I use a normal domestic carpet shampoo then as it's cheaper.

My George has now been used a lot and saved a fortune on getting someone in to valet the interiors each time. I even gave it the unenviable task of cleaning the carpet in the back of the van, which was black from all the dirt that gets in there - came up like new again.

As for dash cleaning, I do like 303 aerospace protectant as it can be buffed off to give a low shine finish - I really dislike shiny dash tops as they reflect in the windscreen. It's also excellent on plastics, rubber trim, tyres, and in the engine bay.

My mum & GF both have Vax / George's with all the spangly bits!
Do i just need the carpet cleaner or do i need an additional one for the seats also?

+1 for Numatic product range. Very good bits of kit that will last forever and aren't that expensive to purchase.

I've used it on the seats in my wife's BMW to great affect to remove kid related muck - not hand any issues.
