www.speedograph-richfield.com/ are a bit cheaper than Speedy. They made one for my 400se a couple of months ago.
I also had the cable made about 18inches longer so that the routing would be better (tight cable turns is what makes the inners break)
The box thingy links to the ECU, and sends a signal that the car is moving. The ECU holds the idle a bit higher as a result until you come to a complete stop for some reason.

Just got new cable, but I'm confused.
One end of the new one in plain round cable the other end is the cable ground down to make it square, however this is loose if fitted in the gearbox end which has a square socket.
The old cable at the gear box end had an engineered male square end fitting, but the new one do's not.
Does anybody know if this fitting should be on the new cable and TVR have left it off

Thanks Streaky.
No it's not that end of the cable its the other end that goes into the gearbox, the new cable is just plain (round) the old one has a metal male square end on it, I think its not been fitted to cable at production.
Sounds like a Range Rover cable, perhaps I'll try them today as my TVR dealer is closed today.
Just don't like not knowing how fast I'm going as I blast other people.

The innner cable should be square at both ends.
At the gearbox the larger flat plated end is held in by a fork (in turn held by a bolt.)
The little square box end (ie, under the bonnet) is a simple screw sleeve fit. If you aint got these fixtures you may not have the right bit. BTW, despite what the dealer may tell you, it's definately NOT the Range Rover cable. I tried that too and it doesnt work!
