Perusing the TVR classifeds for some rear wishbones for the Chim and I came across this..

It looks like the bonnet from Richards car, but a different tub and chassis

Compared to what? I don't know of any other chassis on the market to compare it to and even a complete car would need stripping and rebuilding after purchase if you're doing things properly.Regards

A new chassis is around 3500 plus vat on its own and a new body shell somewhere between 3 and 6.
Don't forget the cage at around a grand either..
If you wanted that package new I wouldn't expect any change from 10k, and this one has provenance, and was a real Tuscan racer. A new one would be a recreation

who's car, when, is there anything left of it?
Most fast ones were stripped and rebuilt with all new gear at the end of the season anyway.
Flux's would have had new tubs/bonnets engines gearboxes etc etc.
nice for the pub but just buy one thats quick and all the fast bits are still on it.
Not sure who's Tims was originally, but thats a fast car with all the right bits and still up together.

was only comparing to what else was about (I think Amos wanted about 6k for a rolling chassis at the time), and the price it would cost to make into a complete car, compared to what you would pay for a complete one, at the time I worked out it would be cheaper in the long run to buy Jamie's car at the time, but also realised I need to sort my life out 1st.I do think most of the car are too cheap compared to what they cost to build, that the main problem. but it's what people are willing to pay not what it's worth.
As to what its worth, depends what your going to use it for, if to make into a usable care then start with the price of good car and then add up all the parts you need to buy and some labour time and cost for powder coating the chassis. then subtract this price from a sorted car (like the one John just sold). and going by those prices I doubt it worth much.
I wish they did sell for more and more people was racing.
I can definitely agree that its cheaper to buy one that runs than one that doesn't. Mine is still a fair way of starting up and its cost me plenty more than a decent Class A Tuscan so far. That said, it will be a higer spec but that's the problem, I keep wanting to buy the more expensive part or just do a bit of extra work to a particular part while its in front of me.. It all adds up!

That body would have taken a battering over the years - as Giles will no doubt fondly remember - he pushed me off twice at Snett and Brands in the 90's and had a few on-track arguments with others as well.
