I am looking for a bit of help guys.... I took my grand father (aged 87) in my TVR S last weekend and he once again started to tell the story of an old MG he had.... and I am trying to get an idea of which model it may have been to do some research for him!!

I think he wopuld have owned it in the late forties or early fifties and I think it would have been an old model then as he would not have been able to afford a new one. All he could really tell me was the chasis was wooden and that it ghad a real turn of speed... he bwas telling me something about a boost dial or lever under the dashboard.... anty ideas appreciated and then at least I can narrow down the options when showing him some pictures to see if he recognises any..

thanks Paul

Why not take him along to MG80 at Silverstone on 23-25 July? Its the largest MG show in the world and there is normally at least 1 of every MG ever built there.

Paul, the chassis would not have been wooden, it would have been a steel ladder frame, although of course the bodywork would have been built over a wooden frame. Several MG's were supercharged, although I don't know of any with a "boost lever". If he wasn't wealthy then it was unlikely to have been one of the supercharged racing types e.g. the K3 of around 1933, more likely a PA or PB, perhaps with an aftermaket supercahrger fitted? Rich...
