Boot light!

Tonight i changed the bulb and checked the terminals and both look fine, still no boot light. Is there a common fault and easy fix to this? Many thanks

Have a look at the switch up near the filler cap,this gets wet and so causes problems.When i was down in cornwall this year i had mine parked on a hill facing down,in the morning this whole area was filled with water.

Sorry hope I don't derail your thread but how do you determine if the boot light goes out when the boot is closed?

I am having a few problems with my boot release and found the spade connector had been removed.

I am sure there is a very logical way to test but I'm having a blond day and can't think of one!

Lol just press the switch near filler.normaly the light wont come on and a play with the switch normaly sorts this out.

Leave car overnight, open boot and immediately feel the light housing. If it's hot the light did not go out!
That's how I found why my battery kept going flat in 3 days!

Check the wires are all connected. Sounds daft but if they have been pulled from the switch it just might hide further issues.

Either a small child/wife, or more boringly a camera on time delay (with the flash off!!)

Pressing the switch will tell you is the switch works but won't tell you if its adjusted correctly.

Or connect a meter to the wires in the light and close the boot, if you still have 12volts showing on the meter then the light will still be on.
