Where does one registration/RFL stop and the other one start?

Sold/purchased car on 5th November. Insurer advised of change and registration number on the car at the time of purchase.

Got the V5 with the transferred registration on 22nd November.

Finally received the RFL with the transferred registration today, but it's dated 14th November.

Have I been driving uninsured for a week or more, or is there a set grace period to swap over?

My insurance renews on 6th December but my current insurer wants £26.50 admin to change the registration on my policy. New policy been purchased with new registration already.

There's no clearcut change point. Docs arrive, you fit plates. For a while the car can be found by searching either reg.

You'd be expected to insure the car using the number that's attached. It's usually clear enough that it is the insured vehicle. I've never lost any sleep over it.

Ta.

Seems sensible to swap plate & RFL on the morning of 6th Dec then.
