Tuscan owner making the swop back
Discussion
Some advise desperately needed.
I'm looking at trading in a 2001 Swordfish Tuscan AND my 1991Elan M100 Turbo for an Exige. Using around 25K for the new addition and the rest on debts
The truth is I'm after an Exige with all the add ons installed already but wondered as I'm used to a 360bhp monster that looks the badgers nadgers but handles like a hippo on roller skates - whether you guys could give me a bit of a steer and pre-warn me of any pitfalls with this particular Lotus.
Cheers in advance

Take it you mean a new S2 Exige?
Weve just got a Tuscan and have an S2 Elise too (supercharged though) - the Tuscan is quick and I though it handled pretty well for the type of car it is. Nothing will comapre to the ELise...but its not bad!
As for the S2 Exige - I think you'll find it pretty gutless in comparison as standard - youve basically got a 2K rev pwer badn and when you are out of that band you may as well be in a 120bhp car. The handling is of course up to usual Elise standards i.e. telepathic
It really depends on what you are after - if its a trackday car you can use daily then the Exige will be awesome....if its a long distance, comfy GT car then stick with the Tuscan.
No pitfalls really - the new car is so much better built and a little more refined. The new engine sould be ultra reliable. The only thing Id watch out for in daily use is the Yoko tyres it comes with as std - they are not good in standing water/heavy rain. A friend has just got a new Exige and also bought a set of 111R wheels/tyres for daily use...other than that Im sure you will love it
