I recently found peace and serenity in watching goldfish and have just got a new one. His current almost bare quarantine tank has provided a great blank canvas for taking pictures and I love this shot I got the other day.

I don't appear to have much which would be considered 'serene' but this is near enough

I stand a minimal chance of even placing, but the photo has a strong meaning to me. I was with friends in Abersoch wakeboarding last year when we got caught in up a search for the body of a canoeist after she had been seperated from her group in a storm. The canoe had washed up that morning on the beach that we launched from, so we went for a motor round to see if we could find anything. The irony was that the day after she went missing, it was "the perfect summers day" with a flat calm sea.

Don't know too much about it but there is a technique of stroking the underside of a Gator that puts it to sleep so to speak.

You can do that with a chicken I recall. Just point at its nose, take your finger to the ground and then draw a line back to you. The chicken will stay there looking at the ground


Anyway - just as a heads up. Since the judging will be taking place late on New Years Eve - We're going to have about a dozen people in the house who will get one vote each. The image with the most votes wins.

So you've not only got me to please, you've got randoms people from age 60 through to age 8.
