Shut the f
k up and pay up. You would only waste your income on trivia like heating the house, buying petrol to get to work and other crap. The government has better uses for it

I agree, hard to see how this is part of austerity....and 'your' man Cameron was all for wasting that £2m.
'Cameron admitted measuring happiness could be seen as "woolly" and "impractical" but said the £2m scheme was warranted because it was a better way of measuring how the country was doing than using Gross Domestic Product.' (GDP) - the standard measure of economic activity.
Just like Noo Labor. Bloody useless!

At least Cameron only wasted £2m - chicken feed in government budget terms. Winky was reckoned to have wasted £1,287bn (sum approaching Britain's GDP):http://www.perspicacious.co.uk/content/gordon-brow...

Indeed, £2m is the annual budget for a circa 1000 students State Secondary School.'Cameron admitted measuring happiness could be seen as "woolly" and "impractical" but said the £2m scheme was warranted because it was a better way of measuring how the country was doing than using Gross Domestic Product.' What's with all this measuring of "feelings"?
In our age of "Austerity".
Isn't it the case that the companies contracted to do this study do the usual for ANY company when presented with a purchase from a government / council organisation, i.e. inflate the cost by a factor of ten?
Try buying carpet for your home, then go to the same shop and ask for a quote for the same carpet, the same size, for a school. The price difference is shocking.
Even with that, though, £200,000 would still sound like a lot just to ask a few thousand people if they were happy. They could have done it for next to nothing, get a website for a few hundred quid, or send out a mass email directing people to something like survey monkey.

"When asked about how satisfied they were, 76% rated themselves as seven out of 10, where 10 was completely and nought was not at all"Yes but you're not a sheep and capable of rational thought. Sheep are content about most things:
