Labrador friendly small car for £5-6k
Discussion
My OH is looking to replace her Puma with something more friendly for our 1 year old Lab.
With the sale of the Puma, she'd have £5-6k to spend.
I'd love her to get a Defender but that suggestion got a firm 'No'.
Ideally we'd get something that has a gate to stop the dog coming in from the back.
Cheap to run and reliable would be good and performance is not really required.
I was thinking maybe Scooby Forester or Honda CRV/HRV
Any ideas?

Our lab fits in both the Mini and the Tamora. Is yours a particularly large lab or something?
She's small at the moment but still growing (13 months). The main point is the OH needs to keep the seats clean as she'll use it for work as well, otherwise she'll fit in the Puma fine. PS If your lab is going in the Mini or Tamora boot, you're a bad bad man.

Seats permanently folded down in the Mini and as much room on the parcel shelf in the Tam.

A key part of their value is whether the cambelt's been done. And the waterpump is prudent to change at the same time. That's a pricy job.Even still, that seems a tad too cheap for the estate...
