I'm in the main-dealer game, but have no connections / affiliation with Ford products at all, apart from the odd part exchange which goes straight to auction!

I need a good connection at a properly good Ford dealership - most of them around here are brimmed with pubescent teen execs who are only really chasing their F&I target and probably won't hang around more than 6 months. Having said that - i KNOW there must be decent Ford representatives further afield. So if you've had great sales service or know of a dealer which actually still respects the product they sell, please let me know!

Reason? Want to put down a forward deposit for the rumored 2013/2014 euro-build-RHD Ford Mustang - hence why I need someone a little bit more 'settled' in the Ford community!

Thanks in advance!

Couple of options for you then

1) Brooklyn Ford in Redditch

Very strong history with Ford and always specialised in the RS Brand

2) Hendy Ford Southampton

As above

3) Dagenham Motors Colindale

These are actually owned by FoMoCo and were the only authorised Supplier to other Dealers of the Ford GT but they have had a big change of their team so not sure if they would be as good as the other two listed above

Wouldn't you like to know what the car will be like first? I anticipate with the rumoured fours and turbos and "world car" status, the era of the great Mustangs may be over.
Hopefully I'm wrong but I won't be buying any RHD Mustang but good luck with it.

A very reasonable comment and one that I agree with in many respects.
I've owned classics in the past - a few MGB's and a Triumph. And I imported two Mustangs over 2 years ago. Sold one off immediately to pay for the costs and kept the Mach for half a year. The only thing that has changed since then, is I no longer have an ample drive. If circumstances were perfect, I'd still have a real one.

I've heard good things about the 2013 re-creation... mainly the improvement in build quality geared towards a more exacting EU market. The RHD would be a warm welcome too with it being a daily driver.

If I do end up buying one, if it even comes out.. i wouldn't be buying on the pretext of 'buying into the Mustang dream'. I'd be buying it as an alternative to the 3 series coupe, c class coupe, audi a5 etc.... I work for Sytner and so am sick and tired of these boring dreary cars!

EDIT to add: I take many 'forward deposits' for unreleased M cars, the i3/i8 range, even the F30 believe it or not! With us they're always fully refundable up until a further £1,000 is needed to spec up / secure a slot. But generally just a nice way to know you'll be filled in on any news as and when it is released, and also that yours will be one of the first on the road! Back when you paid a premium for a brand new model, forward deposits could even make you money! Not that I'm hoping for that, even less so as it will be a RHD mustang... a big faux pas!

I understand but can't help thinking the new Mustang might go that way too. There is something inherently wrong about a RHD Mustang and I would really hope Ford would make the effort to change the styling and make it a Capri and not flush the US Mustang concept by trying to make it something else "Euro" (like they tried to with the Probe).

It probably won't be a GREAT car, but I'm confident it won't be lacking in charisma smile

That's a BS Auto Express piece of uninspired imagination based on the Guigaro concept from 2009.

Wow. That's a thread resurrection!

Potentially although less likely than I was back then... Bought something to satisfy the "non company car" slot in my life not so long ago, but no harm in letting me know once you have some pricing. It would be a V8 with a manual box (if anything)
