Aside from the crap terminology (colder AND denser, the latter being irrelevant to his argument), when it's cold tyre pressures drop a little but that just means you pump them back up to the pressure you want.

Also, if I ran my Scooby tyres at recommended pressures, my front tyre would wear their shoulders disproportionately compared with the centre-line which implies I'm not getting the best traction or rolling resistance from them. But not the sidewalls. And I don't for a minute believe dealers do this for income generation.

Surely 35psi is the same regardless of temperature. If it gets colder you have to put more air in to maintain 35psi.

Oh dear you set the tyre pressure with the tyre cold because as the air inside gets warmer and expands as it heats thus the pressure goes UP.
