Need a simple, clean single room for a midweek London overnight next Thursday.

Any PH suggestions as to decent places under £80-100.

Really don't want to spend too much - would rather blow it on a good meal!

West End is perfect. Most of my meetings are there, but cannot really justify cost of Dean Street Town House!

I've used http://www.astorcourthotel.co.uk/ and it's clean and tidy. Booked via http://www.advertising-online.net/ and got it for £105...

Wardonia
Cheapest place I have ever stayed in London - £40 a night.

Room was clean, but tiny.

There are plenty of Ibis and Travelodges dotted about if you are looking for a cheap no nonsense room for the night.

Holiday inns are a decent shout, not luxury by any stretch of the imagination but nice enough.

I've stayed in the regents park one and the one near park lane.

I've yet to find a Travelodge in a useful part of London that was less than £100!

Booked a 'failsafe' £50 room at Wardonia

So can look for bargains over the next few days.

Be careful going too cheap. I got one (admittedly it was very, very cheap for London but it was last minute too drunk to go home, need somewhere to rest my head) that boasted a "mini-bar". When I got there it was one of those small "beer" fridges with a faded logo, inside was a small bottle of water with no label and an orange. The room was tiny too and I had to use a shared bathroom.

I always use www.lastminute.com - their "secret hotels" are often awesome (I've never been let down by them).

Sorry I meant Premier Inn not Travelodge.

They're usually tucked away but near DLR / tube so even if they seem far out, they are handy for getting to / from.
