Fitted car carpets - any recommendations?
Discussion
Hello all,
After perusing vixen1700's thread on the DS Chapron I have decided to treat my DS to a new fitted carpet set.
There are sets available from various people online which you fit yourself but what I would be after is a real factory finish, much like in this photo nabbed from the Hexagon Classic advert mentioned above:

Has anyone had a carpet re-trim done by anyone they would recommend? I am based in North Yorkshire but would happily travel to have it done by someone who knows what they're doing.
I'd be after pretty much exactly in the photos above (minus the seats - mine are identical but in black but I really like the red carpets
)
Cheers,
Ben

Thanks Andrew, is that your XK on their site? Looks very pretty.
I'll drop them a line.
Budget is a consideration. If its not too much to ask do you know how much the carpeting alone (minus any leather work you've had done) cost? If you could give me a steer via PM it would be much appreciated. Of course no offense taken if you want to keep mum

No not mine unfortunately, just one of the pictures from their web site
Cost wise it will all depend on your choice of materials and how much work is required . . . .but I'd suggest a figure of approx. £400 as somewhere to start from (£200 to supply a carpet kit and £200 to fit
ETA google would suggest a top of the range wool carpet set is around £350 for a DS

I've seen the £350 set you have seen, looks good but, as you indicate above, it is all in the fitting. I just know that I'm such a cack handed oaf I could buy a million pound carpet and make it look like sh*t. Andrew, that photo should not appear under the Classics section and I have asked the moderator to create a new "pimp my ride" category for it.

. . . . . . I know some of their customer requests are a little too far towards the Gulzar/Kahn end of the good taste scale for my liking, but the workmanship is superb
Angus is a good friend who has done work to a super standard for a large number of friends and customers. There work has included the bizarre interesting and full retrims to original standard.

Do ask him about the Ferrari Mondial Cab he had to help rescue after it was vandalised by an " amateur " service and restoration specialist, you may have read the tread on another site? he's just retriming that customers wife's Maserati, its a cautionary tale.
