fixing dodgy electrics

Having a few problems with door and boot switches on my S6 Cerb, they are inconsistent to put it mildly, and getting worse. I have heard mention of a chap who is a whiz with this stuff - Carl I think? Anyone have contact details and any idea of cost for him to sort out all the switches properly? Cheers for any help and advice.

Not opening - doors OK from outside but frequently refuse to open from inside - they do eventually though if you're patient. Boot much the same - can hear the servo whirring but lock does not pop open. Central locking from inside completely screws up the doors. Key fob lock, immobiliser etc all fine.

True I'm sure. However I have neither the time nor inclination to do so and would prefer a real expert to provide a permanent fix and an improvement on the original. Cost isn't too much of an issue provided it doesn't run into thousands - just trying to get a ball park figureandydw said:

Carl is quite conveniently close (to your business address, so assumptions are made).I would definitely give him the call, as he is willing to travel.
I would be very surprised, assuming it's 'the usual' issue if you are looking at more than a very small number of hundreds at most.
Carl will give you a very good idea in advance in any case.
In my experience, his rates for travel time and work are both reasonable and fair.

That is excellent news, and yes he is pretty close to me. Be good to have him give the whole electrical system the once-over, car is left outside most of the time.I would definitely give him the call, as he is willing to travel.

Well, had an interesting 3 hours with Carl today (top bloke) and would you know it, the switches behaved perfectly at all times. Perhaps they were scared who knows. Anyhow , Carl was very thorough and really knows his stuff so thanks for the tip and here's a recommendation of hi services.
The car managed to confound the great man mind - the window on the drivers side drops too low for my liking before the door springs open. All the switches etc control box, the works, checked out fine - and here's the thing: with the door open, or open and simulated closed with a magnet, it works perfectly. The window hits the micro switch and voila! But with the door closed the window drops over halfway, well past the switch before the door opens. Bizarre.
Car goes back to Carl after Christmas for some new key fobs and a DAB radio, and maybe a fix for the pesky window.
Now if I can just get the car watertight.....

Yes, though the point is that the micro-switch works just fine - tested with a voltmeter with door open and closed. Window drops to correct point (when it hits the micro-switch) with the door open, but with the door closed the window sails well past the switch before the door opens even though the switch has closed.Will start doing things like that though, just to see if there is some invisible gremlin lurking in the switch. Peter Smith has suggested the problem may lie in the harness though.
