Need door help.

Help needed for dumbass me pls.My passenger door keeps unlocking as I'm driving along.It also is very tempremental on shutting & keeps "bouncing" out if you like.I think the problem is the latch mechanism.

When the door closes,is the closing process of the latch mechanism purely mechanical or is it electrical as well?While looking at it it seems the "finger" doesn't move properly.Closes once,then after opening the finger doesn't go back to its rightful place & the door will not close & bounces out.Would that explain why it opens while driving.It seems to do it if you hit a pot hole or bump.

Had a look inside the door control box & all seems ok & connectors clean,BUT I don't really know what I should be looking for.

The closing process is purely mechanical. Check the screws that hold the latch to the body are tight, that can cause problems. If they are tight, you could try disconnecting the passenger side door buttons or the door control box and see if it still opens on its own. That would at least tell you if its an electrical or mechanical problem.

I believe there is some adjustment on the solenoid opening mechanism, I guess if it is adjusted to close to the opening point a jolt might release the catch so its probably worth a look at that.

It's normally me who gets the passenger seat when the boss is around!

Also pull the red handle and make sure it has returned fully, my passenger door opened once and was caused by the red handle.

I had this a few years ago on the pax door, it's quite unnerving when going round a mini roundabout and the door flys open! My wife was following me and she thought the door had hit a railing as it bounced back with quite some force and got wedged shut on the carbon A pillar trim. Turns out the latch was knackerd, and I had to get a replacement.

Hi guys.Took the trim off to have a look at the door mechanism,& part of my problem I think is that the emergency release is not re locating properly.It all seems to move freely at the lock end but the pull handle is really stiff.How do I address that end? I thought I would be able to access it by removing the carpet?
