Fitted a replacement driver seat lever so it folds forward.
Took out screenwash reservoir and gave a good clean out. Refilled.
Replaced 21 cack fuses for nice new ones.
Prepared wife's winter tyres for fitting on Monday, hid in garage for an hour while wife's friend visited. Got told off for smoking 'in the house' followed by row as I said the garage is its own specific domain.

Quite agree Ben :- a) the garage is mine and b) where else can I go for a smoke???I musn't tell Lady S but I quite enjoy being out in the garage having a smoke and being with the "girls" (sad old f*rt that I am that's how I refer to my cars).

benjj, that's hilarious...glad i'm not the only who takes a cigarette whilst in the garage and tinkering. in fact, frequently take pot of tea and biscuits, armchair, and turn on radio4. a friend and i have often discussed turning his garage into a gentlemans club...a couple of chesterfields, cigar humador, and garage temperatured armagnac...strictly no females permitted.some years ago, when with ex-mrs v8250, i kept a large period klaxon in the kitchen. ex-mrs v8250 would give a couple of blasts on the klaxon 15mins before supper was ready. of course, i'd always find just one more thing to do and arrive late for dinner...get an ear bending...yes dear, yes dear, terribly sorry dear, shan't do it again et al; then all would be calm. however, one weekend lunchtime i pushed it a bit too far. before i could say "just refit the manifold", ex-mrs v8250 arrived with lunch and garden chair in workshop. no ticking-off, but by christ, the look she gave!!
luckily, the current mrs v8250 loves all things automotive, the aroma of garages, and getting hands all dirty...and happens to be jolly good at bodywork too; fantastic!
I actually do have a humidor in the garage 
I can't do anything car tinkering related without smoking and drinking tea. That reminds me, I've got an old teas maid in there somewhere, must dust it off and put her back into action.
Also... Apparently calling your wife 'current' is not a great move if you want to continue enjoying her bodywork

Well, on Thursday I attended the funeral of a very good mate from our local branch of the TSSC. A dozen Triumphs in the cortege behind the hearse, the lead car being the deceased`s P&J. An impressive sight and a fitting and emotional send off.
Today, took the old bus to work for an MOT which it passed, which was a result as the last one expired a month ago. Tyres are on their last legs so that`s the next job to sort.

nothing filthy about going into garage for a good "smell". personally, i do have a thing for that old damp & crusty wooden shed aroma...one can only experience this in a wooden shed; it's unbeatable. am i the only one who has this preference??
Ben, ref' your teas maid. what about an inaugural "teas maid brewing-up session" somewhere mid-country. guessing all we'd need would be a 230v mains supply [in a hotel], tea, water, milk, sugar....there are 12 of us contributing to this thread...each brings their own prefered tea-quaffing recepticle; i'll bring the biscuits
