I'm the most indecisive person ever. I've recently moved house and currently have sat in boxes
my Anthony Gallo 5.1 Nucleus set and Onkyo amp/receiver. They worked wonders in my tiny little living room at the last place.

The new living room really doesn't lend itself to a surround setup, we sit in one corner (corner sofa) and the TV is in the other.

There's a real wood floor and it's quite open plan so running cables are floor/skirting level isn't going to happen. It would have to be though the ceiling for the rear/side speakers which frankly will be a massive ball ache. Also everyone in the house seems to struggle with the most basic TV operations when everything goes through the AV receiver, having just the TV with a PS3 plugged into it has reduced the number of technical support calls I get in the evenings and weekends! smile

On the other hand I've been doing some digging on how much the speakers are worth I see you can get some very neat roof mounting fittings for the micro speakers, very cool!

Best will in the world I'd get £500-600 for the speakers and £100-150 for the receiver.

That's if I don't get done over on fleabay.

So, flog em and live with crappy sound, keep em boxed up and see if I feel brave enough to get it done in the future or bite the bullet and order some ceiling fixings and get them installed next weekend.

Help!

ETA I should add, I'm not a real audiophile, I appreciate it sounding good but proper hi fidelity is completely wasted on me.

This!

The lower quality speakers will drive you up the walls as you're used to 'quality' of the ones you had, and keeping them while using others is just a waste of money.
IMO of course smile
