Just wondering what the best sounding audio systems are as standard in people's opinions?

Dare is say it, Dad's old Cavalier CDX had a good set of clear, but bassy speakers, as did my crappy vectra!

My current C Class's sound system was pathetic, considering the price of the car when it was new, weak and tinny.

What's your contribution? Mark Levinson? Logic7? B7O in the Astons?

Whatever is in the Volvo XC90 is good. Not much up on car stereos, but been in an XC90 and it sounded good to me.

Volvo have pretty good systems, especially the surround systems in more upmarket models.

For a non-premium brand, the Mk1 Focus has a decent sound.

The Harmon Cardon (sp) in my old Discovery gave out an impressive sound. Not heard anything like it since.

Really? I was about to post that the Come on Hard on in my Disco is at best average.

Volvo. And they don't shout about it either. Some of their ICE systems are phenominally powerful.

I'd agree with this

Also, an 08 Mondeo we hired had a fantastic stereo, best of any car short of a flashy badge I've heard.

The Meridian sound system in the new RR Evoque is absolutely stunning, easily the best I have heard.

Volvo tend to be good, particularly the Dynaudio version.

I've got a Chrysler 300c with a Boston acoustics upgrade. I've had a Porsche 996 with a Bose, mark Levi son in a lexus and a phaeton, the Chrysler tops them all by a margin. It is staggering in every respect.

Dynaudio in my Rocco is pretty good but by no means comparable to B&O or B&W
